As an Atlanta Wedding Photographer, we love capturing Indian Weddings in Atlanta. They are so vibrant and are comprised of ceremonies which date back thousands of years. We experienced that during the wedding of Rital and Jigu. Their wedding was spread out over two days. The first day of the ceremony was comprised of Ganesh Puja, Pithi, & Grah Shanti followed by Garba Ceremonies in the evening. The next day was the traditional Hindu wedding which started around the morning time and vidai ceremonies were done by mid-afternoon. An interesting thing we noticed about this hindu wedding was that the priest (known as the Maharaj in the hindu culture) took a brief moment to explain the meaning behind every ritual. This was wonderful because it made the guests feel a lot more intimate with the wedding ceremonies. Enjoy the pictures that we have posted from their ceremony. Their Indian wedding ceremony was very traditional with a twist. The priest (known as Maharaj in our culture) conducted the ceremony; however he took the time out to explain the meaning behind every ritual which was informative for some of the guests.
