This is day 03 of Annie and Mohsin’s grand Ismaili wedding celebrations. As usual for any any Indian wedding photographer, our day started out in the morning with capturing Annie while she was getting ready for her Nikkah ceremonies at the Atlanta Headquarter Jamatkhana in Decatur, GA. Naturally, a wedding day is special for any bride and groom; however the twist to this day was the fact that it rained right before Annie and Mohsin were about to enter the Jamatkhana for their Nikkah. There is a belief in the Indian culture that when it rains it symbolizes that God is showering His blessings and that is exactly what happened. Annie and Mohsin told us that when Mohsin proposed to Annie it rained on that day. Furthermore, it rained on the day when Annie and Mohsin had their engagement event celebrations.
After the Nikkah ceremony, we had the Khoba Khobi ceremonies which was carried out at Mohsin’s house. This is an interesting Ismaili Indian wedding ritual because here is where the right to rule the house is at stake (not literally).
After the Khoba Khobi celebrations, our day took us to the Indian wedding reception which was held at The Sonesta of Gwinnett Place in Duluth, GA. The reception venue was lighted up very elegantly by one of Atlanta’s finest Indian DJ – DJ Jaz Of GTB Productions. He also provided the music which rocked the reception floor during the dancing. The event decorations were done by Beenish of Events In Style By Beenish.
As an Indian wedding photographer, we come across many jovial people during wedding events and this was no exception. We truly enjoyed capturing every moment we spent with Annie and Mohsin capturing them in our lens. We take pride in the fact that we were the ones who made their wedding memories come alive so they can cherish it for years down the road.
